GIVING BACK: COMMUNITY ADVOCACY THROUGH ART

Giving back to the community isn't just one of my values; it's at the core of who I am.

Making a difference…

…in the lives of those less fortunate or vulnerable is a fundamental responsibility that I take to heart. I believe in the strength of collective kindness and the impact it can have on addressing social inequalities.

While living and working in Vancouver, I focused my charitable contributions towards two amazing organizations. The North Shore Women's Centre, whose mission is to promote equality and empowerment by providing a safe and supportive space for women. Also, Mission Possible, an organization on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, transforming the lives of those facing homelessness, poverty, and other barriers to employment, by paving a pathway to create hope and lasting change.

Now that I am living and working in Italy, I have identified a new charity with a global reach. Seva Canada funds eye care programs that give the power of sight to the world’s most marginalized people. Their work truly resonates with me, in part because I, myself continue to live with vision impairments.

Did you know that about 43 million people are blind around the world and another 295 million are living with moderate to severe visual impairment?

The good news is that 80% of global blindness is treatable or preventable, leading to long-lasting outcomes.

Imagine, for only $50, you can restore the sight of one person with cataract surgery.

I pledge to contribute 10% of my sales to Seva Canada.

With the purchase of my artworks, you will make a huge difference in someone else’s life.

Together, as a community, we can be agents of positive change, creating a legacy of compassion and solidarity that goes beyond our individual lives.

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. To give without any reward, or any notice, has a special quality of its own."

~ Winston Churchill
